Security Camera Program

Is your Capitol Hill Business in need of an exterior security camera to increase safety measures? 

The Capitol Hill Business Improvement District (BID) has been awarded the Safe Commercial Corridors Grant by the DC Office of Victim Services and Justice. The grant is designed to promote public safety and public health through evidence-based activities for residents, workers, and visitors within the District. 

As part of the program, the BID is purchasing exterior security cameras and distributing them to various strategically located businesses throughout our boundaries. 

We are currently conducting an audit to assess the specific security needs of businesses and new equipment will be strategically deployed to selected locations throughout the BID's commercial area.

All newly installed security cameras will be linked with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Camera Connect program to enhance MPD investigators' ability to solve cases by improving access to footage from more locations, thereby boosting our capacity to prevent and address crime effectively.
