Notice of Public Hearing and Preliminary Finding on the Re-registration of the Capitol Hill BID

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND PRELIMINARY FINDING ON THE RE-REGISTRATION OF THE CAPITOL HILL BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 19 of the Business Improvement Districts Act of 1996, effective May 29, 1996 (D.C. Law 11-134; D.C. Official Code § 2-1215.18) (“Act”), the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) will hold a public hearing on the re-registration of the Capitol Hill Business Improvement District.

The public hearing will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Suite 850N, 441 4th Street, NW, Washington, D.C.

DSLBD Director Kristi Whitfield has informed the Capitol Hill Business Improvement District that the filing criteria set forth in D.C. Official Code § 2-1215.18 have been met and their application is otherwise in conformity with the Act.

The BID application is available for review by the public during normal business hours on weekdays at 1451 Pennsylvania Avenue, S.E., Unit #1 in the offices of the Capitol Hill Business Improvement District Corporation; and by the public online at https://dslbd.dc.gov/page/noticepublic-hearing-and-preliminary-finding-re-registration-capitol-hill-business-improvement.

DSLBD invites the public to testify at the public hearing. Witnesses should bring a copy of their written testimony to the hearing. The public hearing record will close ten business days following the conclusion of the hearing, or Wednesday, July 27, 2022 before 5:00 p.m. Persons submitting written statements for the record should observe this deadline.
