Join us for a combined art history and studio arts workshop with Dr. Joanne Allen, Professor at American University. This class is perfect for students who are new to art and love history or experienced artists who want to try something new! Students will learn about the origins of complex geometric patterns used to decorate medieval mosques in the Islamic world. Using a pair of compasses and a ruler you will create a repeating interlaced geometric design to better understand this amazing art form.
