About the Businesses:
Since our opening on April 30, 2016, East City Bookshop has become a gathering place for book lovers of all ages. It's a place to talk about books and ideas, to learn something new, or to revisit something you once knew well. By offering author events, book clubs, other community events, we want to connect you with the books and ideas you want and need... and some that maybe you didn't even know you wanted and needed. We also have a selection of toys, gifts, art supplies, and bookish items that we think would make a special treat for yourself or for someone you like a whole lot. Our mission is to provide friendly and warm service, community-oriented events, and support for the literary arts at every reading level.
Known for its joyful, welcoming vibe and thoughtful selection of organic and sustainable wines from small producers worldwide, DCANTER is a one-stop shop for celebrating the wine lifestyle. We offer friendly in-store shopping, engaging classes, private tastings, global wine tours, and our signature Concierge service that makes wine discovery personalized, fun, and inspiring. DCANTER is recognized as the Best Place to Buy Wine in D.C. and a Top 100 Retailer in the U.S.. We’re here for wine lovers of all levels; for those who want to experience wine, not just collect it; and for creating community and moments of joy, one bottle at a time.
Labyrinth is a puzzle and tabletop game haven in the heart of DC! We aim to inspire a happier, more connected, and thoughtful community through play! For more than a decade, Labyrinth has been a place where bonds are forged and imaginations run wild. Come to Labyrinth to find tons of non-digital fun. We offer something for everyone and hold regular gaming events. Labyrinth is a family-friendly, inclusive, safe space for all.
The owners of Hill's Kitchen met behind the line at Tail Up Goat, where friendship, food, and a shared belief that a good meal can make a community were the secret ingredients. Between them, they’ve cooked in Michelin-starred kitchens, managed award-winning dining rooms, and now, they’re channeling that love of food and hospitality into a neighborhood spot built on curiosity, craft, and flavor.
This event is free to attend. Registration is not required, but will help us get a sense of how many people to provide refreshments for.
Accessibility Information: Built before the American Disabilities Act became law, the store's entrance and our larger downstairs space, including our event space, are not accessible by either an elevator or ramp.
