The Annual Menorah Lighting, co-hosted by the BID and Hill Havurah, celebrates the start of Hanukkah on the front steps of Reformation (212 East Capitol Street NE). The 9-foot Menorah was gifted to the Capitol Hill Community in 2014 by the Capitol Hill Business Improvement District in honor of past Chairman of the Board and Community Leader, Paul L. Pascal, Esq. The “Men in Blue” will serve jelly donuts and hot cocoa.

Aaron Hiller, Chair of the Hill Havurah Board, will return as the Master of Ceremonies.

Returning for the second year, Kinetic Spinners, presented by Hill Havurah, will perform fire dancing following the lighting ceremony in celebration of the festival of lights.

When the event concludes Monday evening, the menorah will be moved to the Eastern Market Metro Park Northeast quadrant (Parcel 1), where it will be on display for the remaining nights of Hanukkah.  It will stand next to the 15 foot tree near the playground that is lighted and trimmed for the holiday season.
